Speak Up for these Great Safety Improvements at Rhodes & Wilson

At long last, the coming capital project at Rhodes & Wilson Blvd has a concept plan and it looks great! It would decrease bus/bike conflicts with a new floating bus island, shorten crossing distances with a pedestrian refuge, make more space for pedestrians by widening the sidewalk and undergrounding utilities, and improve sightlines all around. Our only concern is ensuring that the sidewalk widening leaves enough curb-to-curb space for a future protected bike lane on the east side of Rhodes (the adjacent development will install one on the west side).

This looks great! Love the bus island. Love the pedestrian refuge, love the improved sightlines. Please make sure that the sidewalk expansion in the southeast corner leaves enough remaining space for protected bike lanes on the east side of Rhodes Street as well. We need protected bike lanes on both sides of Rhodes Street!
